Statement of Support for BLM
The Communication Center Journal supports Black Lives Matter and those advocating against anti-Blackness. The murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and too many others are unacceptable and should spark outrage and compassion among all of us. We remain committed to struggles for social justice and toward undermining white supremacy. While we understand that our own communication practices, discourses, and editorial commitments participate in and support structures of whiteness, we also recognize that this acknowledgement is not enough. As members of the Communication Center Journal leadership team, we will do our best to listen, reflect, and continue to hold ourselves accountable in the promotion of marginalized voices, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in communication center scholarship and the editorial process.
